Do you find yourself wishing you could get rid of excess fat without having to undergo surgery? Belly fat, love handles and the rolls of fat on your back are very common problems and can be hard to target with exercise and healthier diet plans. There is one solution to all these problems: CoolSculpting®. The main question when patients are looking into a nonsurgical solutions is: How much does CoolSculpting® cost?

What is CoolSculpting®?

CoolSculpting® scientifically known as Cryolipolysis involves freezing of fat cells to the point of killing them. The procedure is performed using an applicator which is similar to a giant vacuum suction hose. This is applied to the target area and creates suction after which the carefully controlled cooling plates bring the temperature of fat cells down. The cells are irreversibly damaged by the very low temperature. After the fat cells are damaged by deep freezing them, they eventually die and are naturally flushed out of the system. Results start to become evident around 4-6 weeks. The complete results of the procedure may take up to three months to show following treatment.

How Does CoolSculpting® Work?

The CoolSculpting® procedure is performed using a CoolSculpting® machine which utilizes an applicator that is to be placed on the treatment area. The applicator pulls the bulging fat and places it between the panels and then cools down the tissue in that region. The aim is to destroy the fat cells by freezing them away. Scientific studies show that fat cells are prone to die in low temperatures. The CoolSculpting® device exploits this behavior of fat cells and is designed in such a way that it reduces the temperature of the bulge up to the point where the tissues are slightly damaged. However, the rest of the tissues, muscle, blood vessels, nerves and skin are not affected by the cold. The temperature at which fat cells freeze is higher than that for the surrounding tissues. The technology that CoolSculpting® uses can precisely target the fat cells underneath the skin and cool them down to a temperature that triggers their natural death. Fat cells crystallize faster than normal cells which is why the surrounding tissues remain unharmed. With time, as the fat cells in the treated area shrivel up and die, the body metabolizes them in the body’s natural process. The dead cells are eliminated resulting in a leaner and more sculpted body. The fat cells shrink in size with CoolSculpting® and once they are eliminated, they do not return. This is not possible with diet or exercise. The number of fat cells and where they are located in the body remains constant throughout a patient’s lifetime. Once the fat cells die off, they are not regenerated so the bulge is reduced. The results of CoolSculpting® are as permanent as those from liposuction but without the invasive surgery. Fat cells are reduced by an average of 20-25%. Multiple treatments may be required in some cases to produce better results. CoolSculpting® is an easy and painless way to reduce stubborn fat and achieve your ideal body.
