First of all, never attend an event without a plan. Before you even leave your house, tell yourself how many drinks and how much food you are allowing yourself to indulge in, and follow through on your plan. Even make a deal with yourself and offer up a reward if you stick to it. If for some reason you do not win the bet, don’t get upset. Just accept it, move on and get back on track.
Another trick: Wear something tight. Squeeze yourself into those Wranglers because if your clothes are already snug, you’re less likely to over-indulge. When drinking alcohol, try to stick to lower calorie options. Beer and coolers are not your best choice, but there are healthier options available. Calgary Stampede doesn’t have to be all funnel cakes and deep fried kool aid. Did you know there is over 630 calories in a bag of 12 mini doughnuts?! That is insane, and grossly unnecessary. Buy a bag, and share it with a few friends. Eat it slow, and savor every bite. That way you can enjoy the midway fare without having to loosen your belt.
